The portal is established under the Tamil Nadu Money Lending Entities (Prevention of Coercive Actions) Act, 2025 and its accompanying Rules, 2025.
Objectives
- To regulate money lending activities in Tamil Nadu
- To prevent coercive, unfair, and illegal recovery practices
- To ensure fair interest disclosure, standard loan agreements, and borrower rights
- To create a digitally governed registration and monitoring system
- The portal acts as a single window for registration, renewal, annual filings, public disclosure, and grievance redressal mechanisms
Purpose of the portal
This portal exists to:
- Protect economically vulnerable borrowers, including farmers, women, and SHGs
- Ensure ethical lending practices
- Promote digital governance and transparency
- Eliminate illegal and unregistered money lending
- Provide a fair, accountable, and regulated financial ecosystem
The Act ensures that lending is humane, lawful, and transparent—balancing the rights of both borrowers and lenders.
